Owners requested Mar Lan Construction head up their Design-Build team on this project. As one of their busiest locations in Topeka, owners wanted to replace the existing building, a dry cleaning operation, and provide leasable space for a tenant.
The first phase of the project was to build the structure adjacent to the existing store which allowed Scotch Dry Cleaners to remain open and serve clients during the entire construction period. The new facility is a wood framed, 1820 square foot building. SIPs (structural insulated panels) panels were used for the roof construction, and a façade of aluminum storefront, EIFS and a stone veneer water table make up the exterior.
