Mar Lan Construction was selected to renovate the first-floor Amenity level of Naismith Hall near the University of Kansas campus. The entire project was completed over summer break while the building was occupied by summer camp groups.
The renovation created a very open feel. The Student Lounge area had TV viewing areas, a new reception desk with a mail center and featured an accent wall comprised of bamboo wall panels, large format wall tile, custom Montego fireplace and polished concrete raised hearth. Additionally, the renovation provided a fitness room with a view to the pool, a new administrative office, computer lab, staff support rooms, and both full-sized and efficiency apartments.
The public area was accented with ceiling systems that included wooden veneer-faced ceiling panels adding to this dynamic space.
