Mar Lan Construction was chosen as the Construction Manager at Risk for the complete conversion and retrofit of an existing 50 year-old former retail building into a state-of-the-art medical facility for Heartland Community Health Center. This center combined many of Heartland’s current services into one centralized location.
Plans required complete demolition of existing interior walls, the building exterior dock structure, exterior egress including overhead doors, rooftop HVAC units, existing entrance, roof overhangs, and other dated and dilapidated finishes.
Renovation of the interior included framing and construction of administrative offices, restrooms, medical exam rooms, dental treatment areas, staffing support offices, reception, check-in and waiting areas, a complete pharmacy with drive-up service capability, all ADA compliant. New vestibule and storefront system, complete electrical service including emergency stand-by systems, complete new HVAC, plumbing, and fire suppression systems were all provided. Site work involved new landscaping and completely refurbishing the existing parking lot and new exterior signage.
