Mar Lan Construction was selected as the Construction Manager at Risk for the USD 287 West Franklin Bond Project. The scope for the project included building additions at the three District sites.
The Middle and High School site in Pomona added 43,000 square feet of new building additions. A new gymnasium that will seat 1,200+ fans, locker rooms, restrooms, agriculture and vo-tech shops, and classrooms. The music and weight room was constructed as a hardened space to provide storm shelter for the entire campus. Additionally, new connecting links, administration offices, and support areas rounded out this project. The site improvements included a new sports complex with football practice and playing fields, regulation track and all field events fields. New bleachers for the visiting team’s fan base were added.
Both the Appanoose and the Williamsburg Middle Schools called for new additions. The Appanoose project added administrative offices and support, realigned the main entrance, and provided a new Music Room. The addition was constructed as a hardened area creating a storm shelter for the campus. Renovations to the Williamsburg site included a connector link to tie two buildings together and also improvements to provide a campus storm shelter area in the existing Locker Room.
