This project consists of a two-level, cast-in-place, post-tensioned concrete parking structure of over 69,000 square feet located near the University of Kansas campus. This structure will accommodate parking for 174 cars. The parking garage portion is Part 1 of a two-part project. Part 2 consists of a building addition to the northeast corner of an existing building known as the St. Lawrence Catholic Campus Center.
Before construction could begin, demolition of an existing parking lot was required. Coordination efforts were required to satisfy the local residents and the somewhat heavy traffic that travels by the project due to the proximity of the University of Kansas.
The garage is fronted with a random split face Ashlar limestone veneer. Decorative metal framed latticework was installed to train vines up one of the walls. Cedar latticework provides the required ventilation on the lower level.
