Wrapping Up Construction at USD 287 West Franklin

We are coming down the home stretch on the USD 287 West Franklin project and what a project it has been! The elementary campuses took on some improvements. Appanoose involved a new addition that provides a hardened area for storm protection for the campus that doubles as a new music room and staff accommodations.

Williamsburg received a new connector that allows an out-of-the-weather passage from the main building to the other. They also received upgrades to the window system in the gymnasium, ventilation upgrades, and modifications to make the lower level locker room a hardened area for storm protection for the campus.

Shown in the photo is the High School campus at Pomona. The additions at this facility provide a hardened area that is sized for the campus, this space also doubles as the weight equipment area and a new modern music room (not shown). This rests on the West side of the campus and ties two existing buildings together. The South addition includes administrative space, men’s and women’s locker rooms, toilets, concessions, vocational-technical shops and classrooms, and a new sports gymnasium equipped for basketball and volleyball. Then lastly, is the sports track and field. The once chat running surface is being replaced with a state-of-the-art running track. The football field has been relocated and will reside in the center of the track. The new turf field will have an automated irrigation system. The peripheral fields will include long jump, high jump, discus, shotput and javelin fields. Marty Criqui, jobsite superintendent is running here, there and everywhere to keep things moving along.
