Like so many in the construction industry, all of us at Mar Lan Construction were sad to hear of the passing of Kurt von Achen. We all knew him as a colleague, an excellent architect who cared deeply about his work, but most of all we considered him our friend. All of us have great memories of working with and knowing Kurt. Over the years we have completed a lot of successful projects together and were always happy to know he was the architect on an upcoming project. Kurt had a way of making his presence known and we remember very fondly that every Valentine’s Day he would grace our office and bring daisies. It’s just something he felt very strongly about. Kurt was one of the good guys and his legacy of caring for his community will be without comparison. He was well-liked by all and will be missed by many.
