A bird’s eye view is sometimes the best way to get the scope and size of a project. This one is the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation Dental Clinic Expansion project at Mayetta, KS. Site work prep is underway for the new access road coming into the new Clinic expansion. The new parking lot will have new MRI and CT concrete pads for the mobile equipment to be housed at the PBPN complex. The building pad is being prepared with structural fill that the PBPN Road and Bridge Department is hauling in partnership with Mar Lan and Schmidtlein Excavating. The building pad will require almost 250 individual truckloads of structural fill that R&B will provide to the site. We have teamed with PBPN Road and Bridge on several of our larger projects over the years. They have proved to be a good partner to help keep the overall costs of construction down and provide a local partner with the Nation. Soon the concrete retaining walls will start on the outskirts of the building pad, and we are planning to start curb and gutter on the new road if the weather keeps holding above freezing. We might even see some asphalt going down if we can push it through!
